Planning Committee Member Application and Expectations

If you have been to MMMC, please consider applying!   Young people with wealth as well as past participants/presenters from all financial and class backgrounds are encouraged to apply.   We are looking for people with a variety of skills including including outreach, communications, fundraising, programming and inclusivity.  They will work on all aspects of the retreat with the Retreat Director, a position that we are currently working to fill.  

Lat year’s retreat:
Last year's MMMC was historic.  It was the largest and most inclusive in many years - drawing over 90 young people with wealth and presenter/participants. Programming was carefully designed to be sensitive the the issues facing young people of color with wealth.  As a result, participation from this part of our constituency multiplied 300% from previous years. For the second year, presenters were invited to stay for the whole retreat, creating opportunities for young wealthy participants and social justice leaders to build lasting relationships.  We are proud to be developing inclusive cross-class and multiracial programming for a diverse young donor-organizing community.  

Time commitments:
This year's retreat will take place November 12-15, 2009 in Falls Village, Connecticut.  


Compensation:
This is a volunteer committee so all time is volunteered.  We want people who would not be able to afford to travel to be able to participate on the Planning Committee so we have a limited number of travel stipends.  If you would need financial assistance to participate on the committeeor attend the retreat, please let us know.
